Dental Implant Costs – Denton TX Cosmetic Dentistry
The biggest barrier to patients considering implants is the cost. We understand. As with any medical procedure, dental implants are incredibly effective, but they are one of the most expensive procedures we perform.
Also like any surgical procedure, it is rarely in your best interests to make decisions strictly on who has the lowest price. There are so many clichés we could use here—“you get what you pay for,” or “if it sounds too good to be true…” The fact is, if you are considering a dental implant, you owe it to yourself to make sure the person placing it has the experience and success rates to support his or her ability.
Ask the Right Questions
- How much training have you received?
- How many dental implants have you placed?
- How do you decide what type of implant to place?
- How many implants will I need (for a partial or full arch implant)?
- Is the fee I have been quoted all-inclusive?
If you are unsure whether you need a few individual implants, or if you are a candidate for a fixed partial or full arch, we will be happy to give you guidance following your consultation. When making these decisions, we factor in the condition of the remaining teeth, budget, bone density, and patient lifestyle factors that impact healing.
If you are looking at full arches or fixed bridges, we will also let you know how many posts you need. Full upper arches generally require five posts, while lower arches may be fully supported with three. Again, individual patient factors including bone density matter a great deal, so we do not have a one-size-fits-all approach.
When we work up your quote, we make sure you are aware of all the expenses that factor into the implant. If you are comparing quotes from other offices, verify that the quotes include both the implant post AND the final prosthetic (whether a single crown or a full arch denture), as well as the anesthesia, healing abutment (if needed), and multiple office visits. Sometimes, other offices will advertise a lower price, but that may only include placing the implant and not also restoring it to full function.
